A cooling crystallization was explored for the control of morphology of NTO crystals. The kinetics of crystal growth and nucleation of NTO were measured. This kinetic data was employed along with a supersaturation balance to calculate the mean crystal size obtained from a batch cooling crystallization. Roughness of crystal surface observed in high supersaturation from water disappeared when a little additive like surfactant was added. It was found that solvent has a strong effect on the crystal morphology.
