Recently, AEM-URFCs have received a lot of attention due to their low-cost and high energy storage capability. As of now, noble metal catalysts (Pt & Ir/Ru) are used in URFCs, which are costly and scarce, thus limiting the large-scale application. It is crucial to develop efficient bi-functional catalysts that can outperform noble metals. Here, CoP@MXene has been prepared and implied as a bi-functional oxygen electrode. The prepared catalyst has been subjected to physical and chemical analysis using, XRD, SEM, TEM, BET and XPS. Here, MXene is considered an ideal substrate due to its specific properties of conductivity, hydrophilic surface and unique layered structure. Particularly, the formation of POx species favoured the activity of catalyst. This study may inspire the exploration of non-precious metal catalysts free bi-functional electrocatalyst for AEM-URFCs. |
