Co/SrCO3 nanorods-decorated carbon nanofibers as novel electrocatalyst for methanol oxidation in alkaline medium |

Novel Co/SrCO3 nanorods-decorated carbon nanofibers as an effective electrocatalyst for methanol alkaline fuel cells were fabricated by electrospinning .The morphological and composition of the nanofibers were characterized by FE-SEM, EDX, XRD and HR-TEM, respectively. Moreover, the electrochemical oxidation of methanol was investigated in the alkaline medium using cyclic voltammetry analysis. The nanofibers exhibited distinct electrocatalytic activity toward methanol electro-oxidation as the corresponding onset potential was very small (~ 0.08 V vs. Ag/AgCl) .Also, the corresponding current density was found to be increased with the increase in methanol concentration in alkaline medium. |
