제목 Separator Modification with Layered Double Hydroxide Quantum Dots for Enhanced Performance of Li-S Battery
초록 We report a bifunctional modified polypropylene (PP) covered with exfoliated cobalt-aluminum layered double hydroxide quantum dots (LDH-QDs) assembled with nitrogen-doped graphene (NG) to boost the electrochemical performance of lithium-sulfur batteries (LSBs). Conductive NG provides physical barriers for polysulfides and landing points as well as greatly improve the conductivity of LDH-QDs with abundant active sites, eg., Co2+ and hydroxide groups, which not only exhibit strong chemical appeal with polysulfides, but also efficiently accelerate the kinetic process for redox conversion. Due to catalytic effect as well as chemical and physical absorption, the modified cell showed an initial discharge capacity of 1227.48 mAh g-1 at 0.1 C along with low capacity decay rate of 0.041% per cycle over 1200 cycles at 1.0 C.  This research was supported by a grant from R&D Program of the Korea Railroad Research Institute.
