Organic photovoltaic device represents an alternative renewable energy source which has the potential benefits of comparatively solution processing, low-cost fabrication, and wide applications. However, it has the relatively lower photovoltaic performance as compared to conventional silicon based solar cells or dye-sensitized solar cells. Recently, tremendous developments in polymer solar cells (PSC) have intrigued researchers. In this research, we synthesized a new type of copolymers by adding small amounts of carbazole and we obtained an enhanced PCE.
