In PEMFC, Membrane Electrode Assembly(MEA) Fabrication using hydrocarbon(HC) membranes has the problem of poor interfacial adhesion between HC membranes and perfluorosulfonic acid(PFSA) ionomer-based catalyst layer(CL). The low adhesion force leads to the interfacial delamination phenomenon, which resulted in the rapid decrease of MEA performance in the wet-dry cycling durability test. To overcome the poor interfacial adhesion, in this study, bonding layers containing fluorinated moieties were introduced on the surface of the HC membranes. The ratio of fluorinated moieties in the bondng layer was varied to optimize the physical and electrochemical properties, which was measured by the T-peel test, cell performance test, electrochemical impedance analysis and wet/dry cycle test. |
