Preparation of a PEGylated Core-shell Type Polystyrene Resin and Its Application for Solid-Phase Peptide Synthesis |

We developed PEGlyated core-shell type resin by polyethylene glycol (PEG) conjugation to AM SURETM (aminomethyl surface-layered polystyrene resin) bead. We optimized the reaction condition and characterized its core-shell type structures and properties. This resin bead provided high yield and purity in solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS) and the PEG on shell layer reduced nonspecific protein binding property of polystyrene (PS) resin. Furthermore, compared to our previously reported HiCoreTM resin, it gave no auto fluorescence background that could interrupt microscopy fluorescence analysis. |
