This study showed the effect of poly ketone (PK) content on the cure behaviors and thermal stabilities of Epoxy/PK blends cured with DDM. In Fig. 1, a dip at around 168 oC corresponding to the glass transition temperature of poly ketone (PK) was observed. A slight shift of the cure temperature towards higher temperature region is seen. This shift is caused probably by the decreased proximity of crosslinking functionalities by the introduction of PK in the matrix. The cure temperature decreased with increasing PK content. The thermal stability of the composites showed a maximum value at Epoxy/PK-3phr. Therefore, it was concluded that the PK content affected the cure behaviors and thermal stabilities of the blends, and there was an ideal PK content for optimal properties of such blends. |
