Recently many researchers have studied to find the way to control the reflectance of materials used for a reflector of back light unit in liquid crystal display industry, because it can help to improve the luminance efficiency of back light units. The reflectance of reflector is concerned with contents, particle size and inherent reflectance of the filler in the matrix. We studied changes of the specific surface area of the filler with contents and particle sizes of filler. To compare the specific surface area of the filler with contents and particle sizes of the filler, B2O3-ZnO glass as a matrix was mixed in different contents and particle sizes of calcite filler and fired. The specific surface area of the filler was evaluated with scanning electron microscope and the reflectance of each sample was evaluated with UV-spectrometer. From our results, the reflectance of samples increased with fine particle and large contents of the filler. |
