In this work, carbon nanofibers (CNFs) were grown by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) on surfaces of carbon fibers (CFs). The CNFs were used to improve the performance of CF, and the CFs coated with CNFs were used as a reinforcement for polymer matrix. The CFs/CNFs reinforced epoxy composites were characterized using contact angle, DSC, TGA, thermal mechanical analysis, dynamic mechanical analyzer, dielectric spectrometer. Further, the SEM was used to characterize the dispersion behavior of CFs/CNFs in the composites, which is an important factor to improve the mechanical property of composites. The results showed that the introduction of CFs/CNFs into the epoxy resins led to the improvement in the interfacial interaction between the filler and the epoxy matrix, resulting in increasing the physicochemical properties of the composites. |
