제목 Synthesis of Poly(arylene ether triphenyl amine)s through Nitro Displacement Reaction
초록 Poly(arylene ether)s, well known as high-performance polymers, are generally obtained through nucleophilic aromatic substitution (SNAr) reaction that requires an activated leaving group by electron withdrawing group. In this study, we synthesized the new type of monomer having trifluoromethyl activating group at ortho position, but also electron releasing amine group at para position of the nitro-leaving group, bis-(4-nitro-3-trifluoromethylphenyl)-phenylamine. The monomer was polymerized with several bisphenols to obtain high molecular weight poly(arylene ether triphenylamine)s through nitro displacement reaction. The electron withdrawing effect and steric bulkiness of trifluoromethyl group at the ortho position of the nitro-leaving group facilitate the SNAr reaction in spite of electron releasing amine group. The detailed reaction behavior and properties of polymers will be discussed.
