제목 | A process development for a simple acetaminophen production |
초록 | Acetaminophen, an analgesic and antipyretic, takes a large market share in the world pharmaceutical market because of its reliable efficacy. The conventional production process mainly consists of a nitration step for the amino group and a hydroxylation step for the hydroxy group from monohalobenzenes. Besides the main reaction steps, the process requires a separation step for the desired p-substituted benzene and a recycle step of the used strong acids after the nitration step. We report a new efficient process for acetaminophen, which does not require the separation step and the harsh nitration step. The process contains metal-catalyzed reactions with p-dihalobenzene for regioselective and eco-friendly production environment. Moreover, the suggested process has been simplified by removing a workup process. With the simplified acetaminophen production process, the desired product has been synthesized without any of the possible regioisomers under the eco-friend environment. |
