제목 Preparation of Proton Conducting Hybrid Membranes From P(VDF-co-CTFE) graft Copolymer and SiO2
초록 we were successful in synthesizing proton conducting poly(vinylidene fluoride-co- chlorotrifluoroethylene) P(VDF-co-CTFE)) graft copolymer electrolyte membranes via ATRP for fuel cell applications. P(VDF-co-CTFE) was directly grafted with a sulfonated monomer, styrene sulfonic acid, using ATRP from secondary chlorines on the main chain backbone. The membranes were further crosslinked by converting terminated chlorine atoms to end-functional azide groups, followed by UV irradiation, which provides improved mechanical properties. The solgel chemistry offers a versatile approach to design homogeneous organicinorganic composites in mild conditions under which the organics can survive. Molecular design of the inorganic and organic components to produce new materials with novel chemical and physical properties attracts more interest. A lot of inorganic moiety such as silica, titania, zirconia were introduced into polymeric matrix. The incorporation of inorganic compounds enhances proton conductivity, water retention, and mechanical strength at high temperatures.
