Diblock copolymers have been considered one of the promising self-assembling nanomaterials for numerous applications because they spontaneously assemble into nanostructures such as spheres, cylinders, and lamellae, of which the size and morphology can be regulated by the molecular weight and volume fraction of copolymers. Into such self-assembled nanostructures of diblock copolymers, fluorophores including quantum dots and organic dyes can be selectively incorporated. In this study, we demonstrate functionalization of lamellar nanostructures of diblock copolymers with multiple fluorophores. For this purpose, we employed a blending strategy of diblock copolymers functionalized with different fluorophores or additional homopolymers labeled with fluorophores. Thus, we were able to incorporate two dissimilar fluorophores into the same or different lamellar nanodomains of copolymers, resulting in the variation of the fluorescence resonance energy transfer between two fluorophores. |
