제목 Polyvinyl alcohol nanofibre embedded with silica nanoparticles as an artificial extracellular matrix for biomimetic scaffold
초록 In a biological environment, there are extracellular matrices (ECMs) having fibrous structures with various elastic moduli. To imitate these mechanical properties of ECMs, combining inorganic particles with polymer systems is conventionally used. We used polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) to make fibrous scaffold. When it was combined with silicate nanoparticles, the elastic modulus of the fibres was tuned. Also, the fibre was cross-linked physically to enhance crystallinity. We found the existence of silica can affect physical cross-linking of PVA molecules, and it can be expected to increase the elastic modulus of fibres, changes of surface morphology e.g. diameter or porosity, and changes in crystallinity. In the future, this hybrid nanofibre can be a scaffold to study cellular behaviour in nanomaterials
