Poly(vinylidene fluoride)(PVDF)/halloysite nanotube(HNT) nanocomposites with different HNT content were prepared by solution blending. Crystal transformation and thermomechanical properties of PVDF/HNT nanocomposites were investigated by means of wide angle X-ray diffraction(WAXD), transmission electron microscope(TEM), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR), differential scanning calorimetry(DSC), dynamic mechanical ananlysis(DMA), thermogravimetric analysis(TGA), tensile test, rheological properties. WAXD pattern, FT-IR spectra and crystal melting behavior examined by DSC suggested that only α-phase crystals are existed in neat PVDF while both α- and β-phase crystals are coexisted in the PVDF/HNT nanocomposites, indicating that a β-crystal was favorably produced by HNT in the PVDF matrix. |
