In W/O emulsions, water is the dispersed phase, oil the outer or continuous phase. Due to their resemblance to the natural protective hydrolipid-mantle of the skin, W/O emulsions reduce TEWL by occlusion. W/O emulsions are usually light and silky skin feel water resistant, not sticky and not oily. But in spite of these advantages, it is more difficult to develop stable W/O emulsions as the viscosity of W/O emulsions decreased as time went on.In this paper we tried to make stable W/O emulsion using gelling agent. In results, Stable W/O emulsions were manufactured using gelling agents in the water and oil phase. W/O emulsion by carbomer and Glyceryl Behenate/Eicosadiolate showed higher stability than by using other gelling agents in water and oil phase. |
