The key technologies that should be developed for materialization of artificial photosynthesis are developments of photocatalystsfor water oxidation, catalystsfor reduction of CO2 to liquid fuel such as methanol, methods to transfer electron and proton from water oxidation catalysts to the CO2 reduction catalysts, methods to organize nano and microbuilding units into functional materials, and high performance membranes for economical collection of CO2 from the atmosphere as well as from flue gases. The key aspects of these elemental technologies and the recent progresses the Korea Center for Artificial Photosynthesis has made in the above areas will be presented. |
