제목 Strategies of Improving Light Harvesting in Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells
초록 The photon management is a crucial factor in solar cells to enhance the light absorption and their performance. The many attempts for enhancing the capability of light harvesting have been executed in diverse directions including: light scattering; enhanced surface plasmon resonance fields; light trapping. Here, we introduce efficient protocols for the integration of functional tailored hybrid nanostructures into the TiO2 nanoparticles-based dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) to improve the light harvesting of dye molecules and thus the performance of the cells. 1) Periodic organic-inorganic multilayer films are constructed by stepwise buildup of block copolymer inverse micelles and introduced into the back-side of the counter electrode as light reflecting layers to increase the absorption of dye. 2) Plasmonic DSSCs containing tailor-designed Au-TiO2 core-shell nanostructures are demonstrated and improved performance is achieved via photonic and plasmonic charge transfer enhancement.
