Thermodynamic studies on shape controlled metal nanoparticles for oxygen reduction reaction electrocatalysis |
초록 |
Oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) catalytic activity difference among the low index plane can be attributed to the change of the d-band center and surface atom arrangement of metal nanoparticles. Understanding the thermodynamics of nano-sized materials is one of the intriguing issues on designing metal nanoparticles for electrocatalysis. However, tailoring the nanoparticle facet considering the mass activity is complicated and needed to understand the thermodynamics. In this report, we synthesize mono-disperse shape controlled metal nanoparticles and evaluate catalytic activity. To confirm the thermodynamic issues, we measured the ‘parameters of shape rearrangement’ using physical measurements such as XANES and PES and surface sensitive electrochemical techniques. |
