제목 Electrocatalytic properties of platinum-metal oxide nanocomposites for ethanol oxidation reaction
초록 Direct alcohol fuel cells are promising power sources for transportation and portable devices. Among of alcohols, ethanol has many advantages such as relatively higher energy density, easy production from biomass and agricultural products, easy transportation and storage. However, the splitting of carbon-carbon bonds is one of the major obstacles to achieve complete oxidation to carbon dioxide during ethanol oxidation reactions, which results in lower activity towards ethanol oxidation. This research will be discussed the improved ethanol oxidation reactivity and stability of platinum-metal oxide composites with amounts of metal oxide nanoparticles. The electrocatalytic activity is studied by cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometry, and morphological analysis is performed by transmission electron microscopy.
