The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of the nanofillers on poly(lactic acid) / poly(vinyl acetate) blends system. Polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (POSS) and organoclay were used as nanofillers. The sample was melt blended in a twin-screw extruder at 190 oC. Both thermal, mechanical, rheological properties of ternary nanocomposites were measured using TGA, DSC, UTM, DMA and rheometer. The optimum nanofiller content was determined by investigating the thermal and mechanical properties of ternary nanocomposites. The structure of ternary nanocomposites was also characterized by XRD and SEM. |
