It has recently been reported that 1H(2H)-1,2,3-triazole can effectively promote proton conduction in a polymer electrolyte membrane (PEM). In this regard 1,4-disubstituted 1,2,3-triazole containing polymers was synthesized via Huisgen cycloaddition for its potential application in proton conducting membranes. The monomer was prepared by the one-pot reaction for Cu(I)-catalyzed azide-alkyne 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition between a diiodoaryl and a diethnylaryl. The polymers were characterized by conventional methods. |
