제목 | Synthesis and characteristic thermoplastic elastomer constituted by 100% of bio-based monomers |
초록 | A large amount of packaging plastic waste is coming from places we are not aware of. Since petro-based plastics, including dioxin, are still causing environment pollution, it is important to ensure that there is no waste accumulated after the biodegradation process through bio-based monomer utilization. In this study, to replace the heat-shrinkage film for packaging in general, elastic terpolyester was synthesized using bio-based monomers such as adipic acid (AA), 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid (FDCA), and 1,3-propanediol (PDO). The unsymmetric structure of FDCA induces a spiral motif that facilitate faster biodegradation. Also, the ring structure play a role as hard domain of elastomer. The odd-even effect by PDO allows the synthesized material to have a much higher randomness, resulting in lower crystallinity and melting point, and higher recovery. At fixed PDO concentration, the synthesized material showed elongation at around 600% and a recovery rate of over 80% to its original state. |
