In this work, it was focused on evaluating the prepared Activated carbon fibers (ACFs) in terms of their potential use for harmful gas adsorption performance in environmental science. Here, changes in the micro-textural properties were caused by pyrolysis of Lyocell fibers followed by chemical activation. We investigated the roles of surface functional complexes, such as oxygen and nitrogen, on ACFs during harmful gas adsorption processes. Also, we compared the performance of ACFs through SEM and BET to investigate the effect of dispersion of ACFs on the properties of filter in the process of manufacturing activated carbon fiber paper through wet-laid process. These kinds of functionalized carbon materials were evaluated the chemical and textural properties for their potential use in harmful gas adsorption applications. |
