Oxidizing alcohols to carbonyl compounds is an important reaction in organic synthesis. Most of the oxidizing reagents have some disadvantages such that stoichiometric amounts of oxidants are required; difficult to reuse, and even harmful to the environment Thus, development of heterogeneous catalysts with molecular oxygen as an oxidant has attracted much attention,. Here, we report on the preparation of Ru/ZrO2 as a heterogeneous catalyst for alcohol oxidation reaction and its catalytic performance. |
