제목 Fabrication of C-SiO2-Al2O3 membranes from Poly(imide siloxane)-alumina nanocomposite and their gas separation performances
초록 The novel pyrolytic carbon-silica membranes prepared by Poly(imide siloxane) copolymer (PIS) were prepared in our previous studies, which showed high permselectivity. In this study, we introduced the Al2O3 nanoparticles to the carbon-silica membranes. PIS containing 1 to 5wt% of Al2O3 particles was prepared and pyrolyzed up to 1000oC at inert atmosphere. The morphologies of the membrane were characterized using FE-SEM and TEM. The nitrogen adsorption/desorption measurement using BET method was used to prove the gas permeation performances to be related with the pore characteristics. The carbon-silica/alumina membrane prepared at 600, 800, and 1000oC showed increased permeability with the alumina composition. In summary, the carbon-silica-alumina membranes pyrolyzed at 600 oC showed the gas permeability for O2 of 464.3 Barrers and the O2/N2 selectivity of 7.3 while the carbon-silica membranes showed the gas permeability for O2 of 190.7 Barrers and O2/N2 selectivity of 10.5.
