Magnetoelectric coupling of high density array ofBiFeO3nanoislands |

Magnetoelectric BiFeO3 (BFO) has attracted great interest due to its promising application to magnetoelectric devices. To study the coupling effect of nano-sized BFO , we prepared the high density array of BFO nanoislands on a single crystalline substrate by using block copolymer micelles. The micelles were prepared by the addition of polystyrene-b-poly(4-vinyl pyridine) copolymer to BFO precursor solution and diluted with a selective solvent. The micelle solution was spin coated on the substrate, and block copolymer was completely removed and BFO nanoislands were induced epitaxial growth at high temperature. Crystal structure and the magnetoelectric coupling of BFO nanoislands were studied by X-ray diffraction and magnetic force microscopy. |
