제목 A continuous process of adsorption, desorption and incineration for selective recovery of Pt(IV) and Rh(III)
초록 The application and demand of the platinum group metals (PGMs) in a variety of industries has steadily increasing. However, Korea is highly depending on their imports for the PGMs due to the lack of natural resources. Therefore, the recovery of PGMs from secondary sources is a necessity. In this study, polyethylenimine (PEI)-modified Corynebacterium glutamicum biosorbent (PEIB) was developed as a high performance biosorbent and evaluated to selectively separate and recover Pt and Rh from binary Pt and Rh mixture. The maximum uptakes of PEIB in binary metal systems were found to be 256.9 mg/g (Pt) and 27.7 mg/g (Rh), respectively. In addition, Pt was desorbed using 0.1 M thiourea in 1 M HCl and the Rh left behind was recovered through incineration at 600 ℃ for 3 h. Therefore, Pt and Rh were successfully separated and recovered by a continuous process of adsorption, desorption and incineration.
