It is well known that the block copolymer (BCP) forms a complex molecule with low-molecular-weight molecules as well as macromolecules. As a new approach, 4-Hydroxyphenylacetamide (HPA), high melting temperature surfactant, forms a complex via strong hydrogen bonding between hydroxyl of HPA and nitrogen of pyridine in PS-b-P2VP copolymer, which was confirmed by FTIR. The ODT increase by adding stoichiometric amounts of surfactant to BCP was characterized by DLS and SAXS. We concluded that the effect on transition temperature is comparable with the supramolecules formed through ionic bonding or complex formation through quarternisation and hydrogen bond. |
