The opportunity crude oil is expected to take the lead of the future growth of the oil production market. There are plenty of methods to remove acid constituents from the opportunity crude oil such as blending, neutralization, extraction and decarboxylation. From among these, solvent extraction has the most effective economic results to remove acids. It is more feasible to choose an appropriate model oil and model acid to represent the property of real crude oil and real naphthenic acid in process simulation. The binary parameters of these simplified components are not reported in the literature. So, predictive approaches are used, such as UNIFAC which uses group contribution methods. An ASPEN PLUS package that simulates this extractive continuous process is made after these UNIFAC parameters are all added. As a result, this extractive simulation process results can be extended to evaluate real crudes and acids in order to evaluate the feasibility of scale-up this technology. |
