Porous carbon materials have wide ranges of applications such as supports for catalysts, fuel cells, electric double layer capacitors for electrosorption, energy storage and EMI shields. In this work, we fabricated porous multiwalled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) cryogels which have disordered and ordered structures. The MWCNT cryogels were composed of a major fraction of MWCNTs and a minor one of silk fibroin as structure binder. To control of porous structures, we applied to sol-gel reaction for formation of network structures and ice-segregation induced self-assembly (ISISA) process for formation of microchannelled structures. The porous MWCNT cryogels with ordered structures exhibit more excellent thermal stability and electrical conductivity than that of porous MWCNT cryogels with disordered structures due to their advantageous MWCNTs interconnection. The differences of morphologies of porous structures were observed. The details of the processes and results will be described. |
