Organic Photorefractive (PR) composite is composed with several components such as photoconducting polymer, sensitizer, non-linear optic (NLO) Chromophore and plasticizer. Especially NLO chromophore is an important factor to perform a good photorefractivity since it can play various roles in the PR composite. The primary role of the NLO chromophore is to provide a functionality leading to a refractive index change by the electro-optic effect. And it can affect to control the glass transition temperature of PR composite like as a plasticizer. Also, NLO chromophore can participate in photogeneration, transport, and trapping processes. In this work, we investigate the chromophore effects on the photorefractivity such as photocurrent, diffraction efficiency and PR response time using several photorefractive composites. And we analyzed the experimental results with Shildkraut differential equation. |
