Cyclodextrins(CyDs) are cyclic oligosaccharides that have hydrophobic cavity and hydrophilic exterior rim.Because it has a small and uniform cavity, we introduced CyD within membrane. First, In order to use the high density of CyD, we synthesized high molecular cyclodextrins with additional functional groups.These cyclodextrin oligomers are still water-soluble, and therefore, we could construct nano-films of these oligomers with oppositely charged polyelectrolytes by layer-by-layer dip-coating process. We fabricated various CyD-containing nano-flims with nanoporous structure, which can be used as membrane. Based on the dipping condition and the type of polyelectrolyte, we could control nano-porosity and composition of the coating. We also studied the physical properties of the nanoporous films including cell biocompatibility. |
