제목 Synthesis and Characterization of Thieno[3,4-c]pyrrole-4,6-dione Derivatives for Photovoltaic Applications
초록 Thieno[3,4-c]pyrrole-4,6-dione(TPD) is a promising acceptor unit in donor polymers of Bulk heterojuction (BHJ) solar cells. One of the reasons is their coplanar structure leading to interchain interactions. And the solubility can be manipulated by introducing different alkyl side chains on the pyrrole ring. Furthermore, its electron-withdrawing functional group makes HOMO and LUMO energy levels of polymers low, which are desired in order to increase Vocvalue. In this study, two donor-acceptor conjugated polymers incorporating TPD derivatives with thiophene spacers as acceptor and a carbazole unit as donor have been synthesized through Suzuki coupling reaction and explored in BHJ solar cells.
