Synthesis of N-ethyl-3-vinylcarbazole(NE3VC) Derivatives Carrying on C60 |

[60] Fullerene has received a great deal of attention because of its potential application in the fields of electro-optics and opto-electronics. Among those applications, the improvements in device performance have been achieved in polymer photovoltaic cells and light-emitting diodes. The limitations for its use in several application arise from its difficult processibility into various matrices such as polymers. Its solubility for organic solvents has been tuned by incorporating polymeric chains onto C60. In this respect, we synthesize N-ethyl-3-vinyl carbazole(NE3VC), followed by organolithium-initiated polymerization. In this presentation, the results for the physical and solution properties of the P(NE3VC)-modified C60 will be discussed. |
