Copper (Cu) is the only metal catalyst known as being able to reduce from CO2 to hydrocarbons above C2. However, metallic Cu has been suffered from high overpotential and the broad distribution of products. Kanan and co-workers demonstrated improved selectivity and productivity with oxide-derived copper. Despite intense works, effects of oxide-derived copper (OD-Cu) has been under debate. Thus, we investigated effects of the OD-Cu to CO2 reduction. We synthesized OD-Cu via electrochemical deposition and characterized by linear sweep voltammetry for the electrochemical properties. Structural and morphological studies were performed with FE-SEM, EDX, XPS, and XRD. |
