Ag/Polyimide hybrid films attract attentions as heat-dissipated and electromagnetic shielding effective films. In this study, we use soluble polyimide for processability and simplifying the process. Matrimide and hydroxy polyimide (HPI) are selected as soluble polyimides which have received much attention as an alternative to insoluble and infusible conventional polyimides, such as Kapton, in various optoelectronic devices, heaters, and flexilbe displays. Furthermore, hydroxyl group in HPI is expected to fabricate nano-sized metallic particles with ion-dipole interaction with silver. In this study, we prepared Ag particles in soluble polyimide film by in-situ formation. The Ag phase was formed by reducing Ag precursor formulated with the polyimide. The distribution and size of the Ag phase were controlled by applying various reducging processes: chemical reduction using NaBH4, thermal reduction, photo reduction. Detail results will be discussed. |
