Highly functionalized branched dendrimers have been used in numerous applications such as host–guest chemistry, carbohydrate chemistry, metallodendrimers, catalysis and surface chemistry. Non-linear optical dendrimers are spherical shape and have significantly attention as a promising candidates for making electro-optic (EO) devices, since the electric field poling of dendrimers containing chromophore are often prevented from hinderance by large dipole moment of the molecules. Recently, we have developed new synthetic methodology for the synthesis of (2-Bromo-1-bromomethyl ethylsulfanyl)acetic acid and their derivatives. For their applications in non-linear optical dendrimers, we have prepared new Poly(thioether)dendrimers terminated with NLO Chromophores. In this study, we will disscuss new NLO Chromophore terminated poly(thioether) dendrimers connected with ester linkage in the core material using divergent method, their chemical and optical properties. |
