Random copolymers consisting of cyclotetrasiloxane (CTS) were designed and synthesized for anti-biofouling. Random copolymers such as poly(styrene) (PS), poly(styrene-r-cyclotetrasiloxane) (PS-CTS), and poly(cyclotetrasilaxne) (PCTS) were synthesized, with different monomer ratios, by radical polymerization. The properties of PS-CTSs and PCTS were compared with polystyrene (PS). The synthesized CTS monomers and copolymers were characterized by proton nuclear magnetic spectroscopy (1H-NMR), gel permeation chromatography (GPC), respectively. Protein adsorption experiments on the polymer surfaces were carried out using fluorescein isothiocyanate conjugate labeled bovine serum albumin. Experimental results suggest that the surfaces of the consisting of cyclotetrasiloxane copolymers have a good anti-biofouling effect. |
