제목 Fabrication and Characteristics of Clad Materials of Dissimilar Aluminum Alloys by Rolling Process
초록 In recent years, aluminum alloys have attracted attention of many researchers, engineers and designers as promising structural materials for automotive industry or aerospace applications. It is expected that substitution of such aluminum alloys for steels will result in great improvements in energy economy, recyclability and life-cycle cost. However, it is necessary to improve the strength and the formability for further applications to the industries. Control of the microstructure and/or the texture is essential for improvement of their properties.  
  In this study, a cold roll-bonding process was applied to fabricate an various clad sheets using 1xxx, 5xxx, and 6xxx system aluminum alloys. The aluminum sheets of 2mm thickness, 40mm width and 300mm length were stacked up after surface treatment that included degreasing and wire brushing; material was then reduced to a thickness of 3mm by one-pass cold rolling. The laminate sheet bonded by the rolling was further reduced to 1.2mm in thickness by conventional rolling. The rolling was performed at ambient temperature without lubricant using a 2-high mill with a roll diameter of 210mm. The rolling speed was 5.0m/sec. The laminate complex sheet fabricated by roll bonding was then hardened by a natural aging(T4) and an artificial aging(T6) treatments. The microstructures of the as-roll bonded and the age hardened Al complex sheets were revealed by optical microscope observation and SEM/EBSD analysis. The mechanical properties were investigated by tensile testing and hardness testing.
