제목 Tuning the lipophilic gel to porous sponge type using for absorbing VOCs gas
초록 The lipophilic gel has been studied for absorbent to absorb various organic solvents. In this study, we present an engineered lipophilic sponge gel consisting of silicon backbone 3-(trimethoxysilyl)propyl methacrylate(MPTS) for absorbing volatile organic compounds(VOCs). The lipophilic gel was cross-linked with poly(2-propyl aspartamide) grafted methacrylates. And then the lipophilic gel was designed to sponge like structure for enhancing VOCs absorbency by freeze drying. To analyze the absorbency of the lipophilic gel, we focused on formation of sponge like structure. In addition, VOCs vapor absorption rate was calculated in closed system and continuous column experiment. As a result, forming sponge like structure was giving rise to improved VOCs absorption rate, though under low molarity MPTS. Overall, this new strategy to prepare the super lipophilic sponge gel using the graft cross-linking polymer would be directly used for designing effective VOCs absorbing material.
