제목 Engineering selective and efficient oxygen reduction electrocatalysts using two-dimensional nanocarbons
초록 Oxygen reduction is one of fascinating electrochemical reactions. Generally, oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) can proceed through one of two competing reactions. First is the 4e- process to convert O2 to H2O, and second is the 2e- process to generate hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). The reaction efficiency totally depend on what electrocatalysts are used. Thus, it has been extensively studied to design active and selective electrcatalysts. In particular, modified graphene oxide electrocatalysts as a 2 dimensional nanocarbon has been widely developed. However, the detailed mechanisms for ORR are poorly understood, that give rise to interruption for active and selective elelctrocatalysts. To this end, I describe the ORR mechanism using nitrogen modified graphene oxides as model materials to extend the knowledge on both 2e- and 4e- ORR mechanisms of nanocarbon-based materials.
