제목 Effect of Sulfur-based Additives on Rheological Properties of Polyphenylene sulfide (PPS)
초록 Polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) has been widely explored in various industries such as automobiles and electronics, due to its low density with outstanding mechanical strength, chemical resistance, thermal stability, and flame resistance. However, its low fluidity has restricted its processing efficiency in injection molding. Various methods based on mixing with other materials or synthesizing of copolymers have been introduced to improve the limited processability. In most cases, the composite materials succeeded in further enhancement of mechanical strength, but showed low fluidity due to their limited miscibility. Here, we designed and synthesized additives with a core structure of sulfur and bonded with long alkyl chains. By adding the additives to PPS resins, we controlled their fluidity and maintained or enhanced the mechanical strength.
