Porous materials have received a great attention in variety applications from separation technology through potable energy devices. We previously studied ternary polymer blends comprised of block copolymer and homopolymer. Due to the advantages of nano-scale controllability, layer-by-layer (LbL) deposition technic may provide the opportunity of a better nanofilm formation in this blend system. Therefore, we studied nanostructured multilayer films of an amphiphilic block copolymer with a homopolymer formed by LbL process. The resulting film was induced by annealing and homopolymer was selectively removed afterwards, therefore, a nanoporous structure was created. This nanoporous film shows a beneficial property as a membrane material such as anti-biofouling. We studied the morphology of the blends using AFM and SEM analysis. Filtration study of the nanoporous blends was also conducted. |
