Effects of Alkali Metal on the Selective Conversion of Carbon Dioxide into Liquid Hydrocarbons |
초록 |
A series of iron-based catalysts with sodium (Na) as a promoter were prepared by the wet impregnation method and tested for the catalytic conversion of carbon dioxide (CO2) to long-chain hydrocarbons (C5+). In this study, we controlled the Na amount over the iron metal oxide (FeMOx) surface to find the optimized Na content to maximize the CO2 conversion and C5+ selectivity. The residual Na affects the morphology of FeMOx via the surface basicity of the catalysts. Low Na content FeMOx shows 32.0% CO2 conversion and 4.3% C5+ yield at a gas space velocity of 4000 ml/g.h and H2/CO2 ratio of 3:1. On the other hand, high Na content FeMOx shows 38.1% conversion and 18.7% of C5+ Yield. We can check the desired C5+ hydrocarbon is considerably enhanced with increasing Na amount on the surface. Furthermore, covering Na enhancing the formation of Fe5C2 phase, which facilitates the chain-growth reaction of intermediate monomers. |
