Bridged polysilsesquioxanes(BPS) are hybrid organic-inorganic materials based on molecular building blocks. In this study, spherical and monodisperse nanoparticles of BPS were prepared by a base catalyzed hydrolysis and condensation reactions of bis(triethoxysilylpropyl) disulfide The average size of BPS is around 100~200nm with fine uniformity. The reduction of BPS nanoparticles for BPS having thiol groups was carried out by the treatment of dithioerythritol(DTT). To fabricate hybrid nanocomposites of BPS and polycaprolactone(PCL), PCL-hydroxyethyl methacrylate(HEMA) macromonomer was synthesized by ring-opening polymerization of caprolactone. Hybrid nanocomposites were fabricated from BPS having thiol groups and PCL-HEMA macromonomer by UV irradiation. Hybrid nanocomposites showed rougher surface and more aggregrated particles than BPS due to the polymer effect. Hybrid nanocomposites of BPS and PCL through the UV Irradiation were fabricated and confirmed by FT-IR,TGA,DSC,EDS and SEM. |
