제목 | Styrene-butadiene rubber nanocomposites prepared from master batches containing polar alkylamine substituted tetramethyl siloxanes |
초록 | We attempted to prepare styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) nanocomposites using organically modified montmorillonites (OMMT). OMMTs were synthesized with the variation of chemical structures and master batches of OMMT and polybutadiene which was modified with dimethyl alkyamine substituted tetramethyl siloxane were prepared and used to prepare SBR nanocomposites. Master batches could be prepared by a solution process using tetrahydrofuran as a solvent. SBR nanocomposites could be obtained by a melt-compounding followed by a hot-press vulcanization. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) studies revealed that the interlayer distances of OMMT were increased and the nanocomposites had the intercalated and exfoliated structures of OMMT by the nanocomposition of SBR with the master batch. Mechanical properties of the nanocomposites from the master batch were superior to those of nanocomposites without master batch and dispersion properties of SBR nanocomposites will be discussed.
