Soft lithography is a convenient and effective method to manufacture microstructures based on self-assembly and transfer of a pattern from PDMS mold to a solid substrate. Block copolymer (BCP) self-assembly is useful platform to generate well defined, ordered periodic nanostructures. Herein, we suggest an unprecedented protocol for the fabrication of hierarchical structures combining soft lithography, e.g., microcontact printing (μCP) and micromolding in capillary (MIMIC), and self-assembly of BCPs by one step process. Typically, noble metal hierarchical structures are created using BCP micelles loaded with metal precursors as target sources in μCP and MIMIC processes. The hierarchical morphologies are investigated by atomic force microscopy and scanning electron microscope. Utilizing the resulting hierarchical Au structures derived from the initial hybrid materials, selected functions are evaluated in terms of biosensing based on coupled localized surface plasmon resonance. |
