Microneedles arrays (MNs) have used for a variety of applications depending on their height. The aim of this study was to extensively investigate to understand the characteristics of MNs on the different aspect ratios (ARs). Thus, biodegradable MNs were constructed to height of less than 750um with an aspect ratio of 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0 both needle width and top, respectively. And then, their characteristics for ARs were examined by the morphology, mechanical strength, and skin permeability. The shape of the MNs manufactured was verified using SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope) and the skin permeability was measured using commercially available porcine skins. As a result, different mechanical properties of the aspect ratio were identified. Therefore, it may be desirable to design the MNS differently depending on the purpose of applying MNs. |
